The psychoanalytic perspective

Understanding what repeats.
Discovering what becomes possible.

Sometimes we experience feelings, conflicts or relationship patterns whose origins are not immediately clear to us. Psychoanalysis also attends to the unconscious connections that shape our experience.

Within a reliable therapeutic setting, there is room to speak about what concerns you: memories, wishes, fears, dreams and contradictions. What is difficult to put into words, what recurs, and what emerges in the therapeutic relationship also matters.

Your individual story is at the centre of the work. Together, we create space for a deeper understanding of yourself and for new ways of relating to yourself and others.

About me

Dr. Sarah Deutsch

Psychoanalyst and psychotherapist in Vienna

My work is rooted in the classical psychoanalytic tradition. The individual life story, unconscious conflicts and the therapeutic relationship are central to my approach.

Since moving from studying human medicine at the Medical University of Vienna to psychotherapy science in 2012, psychoanalysis, clinical work and research have been at the heart of my professional path.

Alongside my psychotherapeutic practice, my research focuses on sleep disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Research and professional lectures complement my clinical work.
